I'm quite a fan of 1950's and 60's fashion photography and I recently discovered F.C. Gundlach (1926-). He is considered one of the most significant fashion photographers of the young Federal Republic of Germany.

50's Fashion Photographer - Irving Penn

Here is the work of another 50's fashion photographer, Irving Penn (1917-2009). This American born photographer began working at Vogue Magazine at age 26 and continued a relationship with them for 40 years. He most often used simple grey or white backdrops for his sophisticatd fashion images.

Late 1950's and Early 1960's Fashion Inspiration Photos

Lately, I've been watching a lot of old TV shows. One of my favorites is The Dick Van Dyke Show. It first aired in 1961. I love Mary Tyler Moore's clothes! So chic!! It has renewed my interest in late 1950's and early 1960's fashion...great feminine shirtwaist, sheath and two-piece dresses, fitted sweaters with full skirts, and chunky sweaters with cigarette-style pants and flats.
