Fashion Stylist at Work

OK, so how come almost every photo taken of me working, shows me from the backside...it's not my best feature!  Here's some examples of what I mean.

Finally!!!  I REALLY don't like having my photo taken, but thanks Melanie!

A FUNNY STORY - One day while shooting, I asked the photographer for time to fix the model's dress.  I stepped onto the set and the photographer immediately proceeded to shoot again.  When I asked why, he said the photos were for his wife...to prove he wasn't all alone with the gorgeous model!

Traveling Carnival Photo Shoot - More Photos

Here are a few more photos from the traveling carnival photo shoot.  The female carnies were super nice about us shooting there and all the guy carnies just stopped and stared!  People kept pulling up in their cars to ask the model questions about the carnival.  I guess they thought she was a side show!  It was a lot of fun.

LisaThomas, Fashion Stylist - Interview by KP Fusion

I was recently interviewed by Kim Thomas of KP Fusion about my work as a stylist, image consultant, and fashion designer.  She asked some very thought provoking questions.  Click the following link to read the interview:   http://kpfusion.blogspot.com/
Thanks Kim for the opportunity!

Leather Jacket

Several years ago I fell in love with this vintage leather jacket I used in a shoot and I just had to have it.  Its perfect for this fabulous Fall weather we are having, so it has become my favorite jacket again.  And those awesome boots...unfortunately they were not my size!  In case you missed the photos the first time around, here they are.

Thrifted Embellished Cardigan

I picked up this gorgeous embellished cardigan at a local thrift store.  The detailed pattern is made of silver metallic thread with beautiful beaded accents.  Note the great buttons!  This is one of the outfits I styled for a model portfolio shoot.

Black and White Fashion

Although Spring fashion is all about color, I love the crisp contrast of Black and White.  While this neutral combination looks infinitely better on cool skin tones, warm skin tones can pull it off by adding a pop of warm color or gold jewelry near the face.  Even a bright coral lipstick (as shown here) helps to keep you from looking so "washed out" if your skin tone is warm.  (To see more about determining whether you have warm or cool skin tones, check out my post: Tools of the Fashion Stylist Trade - Color Analysis.)

OK, so it's all white...it's still fabulous...just add some black strappy heels or a handbag!

The Grace Card - Red Carpet Premiere and Opening Weekend

I'm finally getting around to posting a photo of me taken on the Red Carpet at The Grace Card Premiere.  What I wore...a FABULOUS black and white vintage dress with a ruched top, sequined waist, and tulip skirt.  Accessories included ruby suede French heel pumps with gold piping, vintage rhinestone bracelet, a black and gold beaded evening bag, and shoulder grazing black beaded earrings with tassels.

It has been one week since the opening of The Grace Card.  I am grateful that it has received some excellent reviews from the press...but even more important is what so many people are saying about how the movie has touched their lives.

If you haven't been to see it, don't procrastinate.  We need your support this next week to keep it in the opening theaters even longer.  It will be opening in additional locations across the U.S. on March 18.  See the movie website for locations:  http://www.thegracecardmovie.com/

Full Parking Lot....Hurray!!!!

Our local theater even added an extra screen!  That's a total of 9 showtimes daily at just one of the eight theaters showing it in Memphis!!!
