70's Style Photo Shoot

Check out these 70's style photos from the recent shoot I did with photographer, Kara Jo Eaton.  Photo credits listed below.  (Also see previous post.)

A friend of mine gave me this fabulous vintage 2-piece sweater dress from the 70's.  I could hardly wait to use it in a shoot.  I love the bold burnt orange stripes, bell sleeves, double wrap belt and the longer length skirt...so 1970's!

Late 1950's and Early 1960's Fashion Inspiration Photos

Lately, I've been watching a lot of old TV shows.  One of my favorites is The Dick Van Dyke Show.  It first aired in 1961.  I love Mary Tyler Moore's clothes!  So chic!!  It has renewed my interest in late 1950's and early 1960's fashion...great feminine shirtwaist, sheath and two-piece dresses, fitted sweaters with full skirts, and chunky sweaters with cigarette-style pants and flats.

Great Jacket!

Fall Fashion Trends

Fall is my favorite time of year for fashion.  Here are a few of my top choices for "most wearable" fashion trends for this Fall.

The Working Girl Dress
Miu Miu

Chunky Sweaters
Rodarte

60's Inspired
Bottega Veneta

Maxi Skirts
L.A.M.B.

Plaids and/or Graphic Prints
Ferragamo

The great thing about these trends is that they are all available in your local thrift shop.  So whether you are financially challenged, desire a unique look, or just enjoy the hunt...you are in luck this season.

And here a few other fashionable trends for Fall:  polka dots, capes and ponchos, duster coats, fur, and anything jade green or mustard/camel/rust.

Hippie Style Fashion Photos (Part 2)

Here is the second outfit we shot from my recent "hippie style" photo shoot.
UPDATE:  Check out all my "hippie style" photos with my SEARCH THIS BLOG...right side tool bar.

Note the beautiful embroidery detail on the crocheted sweater.  The top and sweater were both thrifted.  Just goes to prove...with a little diligence and a few bucks, anyone can afford to buy unique pieces to add to their wardrobe.
