30's and 40's Fashion in Flim - Ginger Rogers

I'm continuing my post of vintage 30's and 40's fashions in film by spotlighting Ginger Rogers.  She is best know for her dancing films with partner, Fred Astaire.  Check out the great outfits!

40's Fashion...Now That's Glamour!

I have this great love for 40's fashion.  It was elegant, feminine, and flattering.  They didn't have to show off all their body parts to get noticed.  Now that's glamour!  Here are a few of my favorite looks from the movie, The Philadelphia Story (1940) with Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant, and James Stewart.

Historically Inspired Fashion from Grace Coddington of Vogue

Grace Coddington (1941-) is a former model and the Creative Director of American Vogue Magazine.  I love some of the historically inspired fashion shoots she has styled.  Here are a few examples, plus some historic photos of her as a model.

50's Fashion Photographer - Norman Parkinson

Here's another in my series of fashion photographers from the 50's.  These are some of my Norman Parkinson (1913-1990) favorites from the late 40's and 50's.

Great 1940's Fashions at Hip Fashion Stylist Vintage on Etsy

Today I listed a couple of great 1940's fashions in my vintage boutique on etsy at http://www.etsy.com/shop/hipfashionstylist.  I especially love this awesome three piece suit with a matching fur trimmed shawl/cape.  It's in a beautiful golden yellow lightweight wool.  And it's almost like new!  The olive green shirtwaist dress with the chevron stripes has a World War II look.  Check them out!
