I don't think I have ever done a men's fashion post, even though in my job as a stylist, I do work with men. This rock band, Alfepado, I styled for a photo shoot a while back. I thought you might enjoy these really cool photos by photographer, Sara Clark.

OK, it's time to get on my soapbox again. Last summer, as I did my daily browsing of fashion blogs, I was disappointed in the offerings of cute summer apparel. It seemed like 1/2 of the "what I wore" style blogs had nothing but short shorts...day after day...alternating with mini skirts/dresses. Yes, some of the outfits were really cute and short shorts and minis are all the rage again this year. But let's face it, the average woman just doesn't look good in them. So what are some great alternatives for casual Spring/Summer fashion? Try cargos, bermudas, capris, longer skirts, maxi dresses, jeans (rolled, loose, skinny, or flared)...lots of options for all body types and personalities. So let's get creative!

Maxi Dresses...they come in a wide assortment of styles. Whether your look is bohemian/hippie, casual or glamorous there is something this season for you. Who says you can't be stylish and comfortable?

Although Spring fashion is all about color, I love the crisp contrast of Black and White. While this neutral combination looks infinitely better on cool skin tones, warm skin tones can pull it off by adding a pop of warm color or gold jewelry near the face. Even a bright coral lipstick (as shown here) helps to keep you from looking so "washed out" if your skin tone is warm. (To see more about determining whether you have warm or cool skin tones, check out my post: Tools of the Fashion Stylist Trade - Color Analysis.)
|OK, so it's all white...it's still fabulous...just add some black strappy heels or a handbag!|

Here's another photo from my recent Spring fashion shoot. I absolutely love this dress from Shabby Apple! The fitted bodice and full skirt are so reminiscent of the ladylike dresses from the late 1950's and early 1960's. The bright pink and orange print definitely add pizzaz to any Spring wardrobe. Accessories include pearl and gold earrings, a vintage rhinestone and pearl brooch, and a gold and lilac vintage rhinestone bracelet.

I'm finally getting around to posting a photo of me taken on the Red Carpet at The Grace Card Premiere. What I wore...a FABULOUS black and white vintage dress with a ruched top, sequined waist, and tulip skirt. Accessories included ruby suede French heel pumps with gold piping, vintage rhinestone bracelet, a black and gold beaded evening bag, and shoulder grazing black beaded earrings with tassels.

It has been one week since the opening of The Grace Card. I am grateful that it has received some excellent reviews from the press...but even more important is what so many people are saying about how the movie has touched their lives.
If you haven't been to see it, don't procrastinate. We need your support this next week to keep it in the opening theaters even longer. It will be opening in additional locations across the U.S. on March 18. See the movie website for locations: http://www.thegracecardmovie.com/

|Our local theater even added an extra screen! That's a total of 9 showtimes daily at just one of the eight theaters showing it in Memphis!!!|
